When we moved to the farm, the lower field had been in crop production for many years.  We had it reseeded in prairie plantings to restore the more natural habitat for the wildlife. Deer, turkeys and many species of birds and insects now make the field their home.  The burr oak tree acorns have started growing and we are on the way to having a natural burr oak savanna.
